A water-based polyurethane dispersion (PUD) is a polymer that’s readily deployed in the manufacture of textile, adhesive, papers, inks, and paints. These are highly versatile yet environmentally friendly polymers that comply with strict regulations concerning limited emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) that produce adverse health effects for both humans and animals. Moreover, this polymer is EPA compliant due to its less organic composition. A water-based polyurethane dispersion can either exist as one component (1K) or two components (2K) — these differ in terms of ease of cleanup and removals, resistance, and strength.
